Trainerize alternatives in 2026, with the real prices
Seven coaching apps for personal trainers, priced the way you will actually pay for them: base plan plus the add-ons most coaches switch on. Checked September 2026.
Why trainers look for an alternative
Trainerize's headline is $23 a month for five clients. A working coach rarely pays that. Nutrition coaching is a $20–45 add-on, payments $10, video coaching $10, and the branded app is a $169 setup plus Apple's $99 a year. Fifty clients with the usual add-ons lands around $165–200 a month. None of that is hidden; it is simply not the number on the button.

Where each one still wins
A comparison that only lists what the author sells is an advert. These are the reasons a trainer picks each of the others, as honestly as we can put them.
- Trainerize has the deepest integrations: wearables, nutrition, payments, a branded app. If you run a studio and want everything under one roof and can pay for it, it is still the reference.
- TrueCoach is the cleanest program builder for strength coaches, and most of it is included without add-ons.
- PT Distinction bundles automation, onboarding flows and a branded app into a flat price, which suits established online coaches.
- My PT Hub is flat-fee unlimited with nutrition and scheduling built in; strong once you are past 50 clients.
- Everfit has the most generous free tier among the big names and the best drag-and-drop builder.
- Hevy Coach gives your clients the Hevy app, which many lifters already use and love; it is the least friction for a strength-only coach.
- FitPros is free with unlimited clients, adds a website builder and lets you sell programs. If price is the only question, it is the answer.
What Gymgress PT is
Gymgress started as a client app: a free training log that works offline in a basement gym, in English, Swedish and Spanish, that people use for years without any coach at all. Gymgress PT sits on top of it. That order matters for two things no other app on this list does.
- Your client keeps the app when they leave you. Their history, their routines, their personal bests stay theirs. Clients notice that before they install anything, and it makes them more willing to say yes.
- Every set they log reaches you: automatic personal-best detection with a notification to you, session mood, weekly check-ins, form-check video, chat, diet plans, and alternative exercises you assign per slot so a taken machine does not derail the plan.
The free tier is three clients with every feature, forever. Fifteen clients is €10 a month, unlimited is €25, and there is nothing to add on. Trainers are billed on the website; clients never pay for anything.
Where Gymgress does not win yet: no payments processing, no branded app, no wearable integration, and no website builder. If you need any of those today, look at Trainerize, PT Distinction or FitPros above.
Three clients free, no card, no trial clock.
